Update about geopolymers
Although most research is carried out by academic institutions on geopolymer cements, geopolymeric synthesis is implemented by the international industry in more sophisticated and advanced applications, i.e. automotive, aeronautic, oilfield, etc.. Below is a list of latest published patents filed by AIRBUS, CORNING, SCHLUMBERGER, COMMISSARIAT ENERGIE ATOMIQUE CEA:
- Airbus: Aircraft Conduct in geopolymer composites (WO [...]
At the Geopolymer Camp 2009, July 1-3, at Saint-Quentin, France, Prof. Joseph Davidovits presented a keynote on “Practical Problems related to Mass Production of Geopolymer Cement”. What are the key issues and what are the dead ends? Are we ready and can we manufacture cements that reduce the CO2 emission by 60 up to 80%?
To [...]
Registration runs until Wednesday July 1, morning. It is still time to register. Registrations are running well and we are confident that this first Geopolymer Camp will be a success. You’ll have 3 days for learning, presenting, sharing, chatting, at super saver-cost. We have decided to break down the infernal spiral of costs that is [...]
TWO OFFICIAL GEOPOLYMER CONFERENCES SCHEDULED EVERY YEAR
At the last Daytona Beach conference, Professor Joseph Davidovits (Geopolymer Institute, France) and Professor Waltraud Kriven (University of Illinois, USA) agreed to organize two official complementary and different conferences, every year:
- one located in the USA , in January, at Daytona Beach, Florida, Geopolymer Symposium within the Frame [...]
We plan to have an archaeology session at the Geopolymer Camp on Friday July 3. Main Themes are: Egyptian pyramids with man-made stone (limestone geopolymer concrete) and Roman cements/Roman Concretes. We can also add additional topics at the wish of the GP Camp attendees. Introductory speakers are Joseph Davidovits (Pyramids) and Frederic Davidovits (Roman cement).
For [...]
Mark your calendars and plan on being in Saint-Quentin, France, on Wednesday 1st July 2009 for the first GeopolymerCamp, celebrating the 30-year anniversary of the Geopolymer Institute (1979-2009).
The Geopolymer Institute organizes a “GeopolymerCamp” on every first Wednesday of July, every year, at Saint-Quentin, north of Paris, France.

I want you to react to some biased arguments that are often opposed to the development of Geopolymer Concrete. In a recent blog published by the WORLDBANK, go to
http://psdblog.worldbank.org/psdblog/2008/09/the-cost-of-car.html
one can read the following comment to the article that favored Geopolymer concrete:
“Not really all that amazing.
The CO2 emissions from cement production (from calcination, ie, not from [...]
In a recent report dated of Sept. 8, ClimateChangeCorp strongly recommends geopolymer cement / concrete for its low CO2 emissions. The report cites interviews from cement and geopolymer experts (Prof. J. Davidovits, Dr. P. Duxson, Prof. F. Glaser) as well as Dr. H. Klee, co-ordinator at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, representing [...]
The 1st International Forum Ceramics & Brotherhood was held on July 4, 2008, Verona, Italy, during the 2nd International Congress on Ceramics ICC2. It involved representatives of African Countries (Kenya, Liberia, Tanzania) and European scientists. The aim of Ceramics & Brotherhood is the transfer of appropriate ceramic technologies to African Countries. Professor Joseph Davidovits [...]
